Description
p>Japanese Arisaka Bayonet 1897-1950 (Type 30) in it's original steel scabbard. Overall length 20.3/4in, blade length 15.1/2in. The double fullered and polished single edge blade to a shiny silver finish, but with “old” rust grey marks and some surface pitting in patches, with makers mark to one side in the ricasso. The hooked quillon and muzzel ring cross-guard, steel rivets to the wooden hilt and pommel (including working muzzel release button) to a dark steel finish with some surface pitting and stamped “844462”. The two-piece wooden grips are in good condition and the muzzle locating slot top. The black steel scabbard with ball finial retains much of its original black paint finish but has several dents to it and surface pitting.
This is a very good example of a now hard to find Japanese Arisaka bayonet in good condition for its age.
