Circa 1870 Zulu ceremonial knobkerrie. Made from a single shaft of wood the top of this knobkerrie with decortion carvings and with a flatened underside to the larger rounded end. The lower end of the shaft has been tapered to a point, but this would appear to be contempoarary rather than a later modification. There are no splits, cracks or other damage. Generally in good overall condition for its age.
