Description
Flintlock India pattern Brown Bess musket. Approx. 53.1/4in., barrel 36.3/4in., Full-stocked, the lock is surface pitted and worn and stamped “TOWER” and the Georgian crown between the flint cock and the frizzen. Round barrel to pleasing silver/ steel finish with areas of darker grey “old” rust and some pitting especially near the breach. Birmingham Proof marks to the breach and along with the number “12”. The lock, trigger, for-end swing swivel, rear swing swivel and original ramrod similarly to a shiny steel patina with speckled darker “old” pitting. Brass ramrod pipes, trigger-guard and butt-plate. The lock is crisp and the lovely walnut stock with some knocks and age wear commensurate with age and in very good overall condition.
